Classic mirrors, handmade to measure
I make classic wall mirrors in handmade wooden frames, each one built to order in my workshop in Podlasie, Poland. These are the restrained, well-proportioned frames that suit traditional and transitional rooms — a considered moulding, a hand-applied finish, and glass cut to the size you need rather than a fixed shop measurement.
Every mirror in this range is made to measure. You choose the dimensions, the frame width and profile, and the finish; I build the frame, prepare it by hand and fit the mirror glass. Because each piece is made individually, adjusting the size or proportion to your wall is a normal part of the process.
What makes a mirror "classic"
A classic mirror is defined by its frame more than by any single colour. The profiles are measured and architectural — rounded outer lips, stepped inner edges, clean flat faces — finished by hand rather than wrapped in foil or veneer. The effect is calm and permanent, which is why these frames sit comfortably in period interiors, hallways, dining rooms and above a fireplace.

Finishes and frame options
Painted frames
Hand-painted and lacquered frames in black, white and a range of colours, in satin or high gloss. Some are finished with gentle distressing for a softer, lived-in look. Widths run from narrow profiles to wide, statement mouldings, depending on the mirror and the wall.
Hand-gilded frames
Where a warmer, more traditional finish suits the room, I gild frames by hand with genuine gold leaf — 22-carat moon gold and 23-carat yellow gold — as well as white gold and silver. Gilding is one option among several here; not every classic mirror is gilded. You can read how it is done on my water gilding page.
Made to measure
Each mirror is framed to your dimensions, up to large wall sizes. Tell me the space you have in mind — the opening, the wall, whether it hangs portrait or landscape — and I will advise on a frame width and proportion that holds the wall without overwhelming it. The mirrors are made with quality mirror glass; the exact specification for each design is listed on its product page.
A few classic pieces to start from: the Nero Lux mirror in a black frame, the Toskania 78 with moon-gold leaf, the hand-carved Aurea Toscana 23K, and a black frame with Flemish corners.
Ordering and delivery
Every mirror is made to order. Smaller framed mirrors can be shipped internationally; larger pieces are arranged individually, so please contact me before ordering a large mirror and I will confirm delivery and cost.
