Craftsmanship

The frame is made from solid wood. The corners are joined using wooden dowels. This ensures structural stability and resistance to warping over years of use. The surface is hand-painted with a high-pigment paint from a craftsman's own colour range. The front panel and sides of the frame are painted in the same muted blue — matte, calm, with a visible hand-finished texture.

The inner edge of the moulding is gilded by hand with 22-karat moon gold leaf, applied sheet by sheet. Once laid, the gold is lightly patinated — the result is a warm brownish-gold tone, understated and matte, which creates a clear contrast against the blue of the frame. Each frame is individually hand-prepared and gilded with genuine gold leaf. Traditional craftsmanship ensures the durability and elegance of every piece.

How this frame differs from mass production

Mass-produced frames are made from veneered board, spray-painted, with metallic details replaced by foil or metallic-effect lacquer. In this frame, every stage — selecting solid timber, joining corners with wooden dowels, hand-painting, applying gold leaf — is carried out individually. The SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm OptiWhite glass delivers a high level of clarity in the reflected image and accurate colour rendition. The frame is sealed with a moisture-resistant lacquer coat, making it suitable for bathroom and hallway use.

The mirror is made to measure — simply provide the exact overall dimensions of the finished piece including the frame. The frame is available as standard in blue with an inner stripe of 22-karat moon gold. On request, other shades of blue are available from the high-pigment paint range, as well as entirely different colours — including gold tones (23K, 12K), silver, or any colour from the full palette of over 100 shades. Different gloss levels are also available.
