Bathroom mirror in a wide white frame, made from solid wood. Hand-painted and lacquered in high-gloss white with polyurethane lacquer, SGG Miralite Pure Diamant 4 mm OptiWhite mirror glass. Made to measure.
A bathroom mirror in a wide white frame made from solid wood, combining daily functionality with a confident decorative presence. The hand-prepared frame, painted and lacquered in high-gloss white, brings light and a sense of freshness into the room, while the SGG Miralite Pure Diamant 4 mm OptiWhite mirror pane delivers a clean reflection free from the greenish cast typical of standard mirrors. Made to measure, this wall mirror belongs above a vanity, but it also earns its place in a hallway, bedroom or living room — anywhere the quality of reflection and a definite moulding profile matter as much as utility.
Where it works
A glossy white frame belongs in interiors built around light, clarity and considered colour planning. High-gloss white reflects both daylight and artificial light, giving smaller bathrooms a welcome sense of openness. The frame sits naturally against white, grey, beige or pastel walls, and equally well counterpoints darker tiling, graphite glazes or wood.
In glamour-leaning bathrooms the mirror takes on new depth alongside brass fittings, a marble vanity top or an accent piece in a gold frame. In Scandinavian and minimalist schemes it becomes a quiet, geometric presence. Beyond the bathroom, bespoke framed bathroom mirrors of this kind translate easily to narrow hallways — opening the space optically — and to dressing rooms where a large, reliable reflector is essential.

Construction
Each frame is built in the workshop from solid wood — every moulding is milled, sanded and fitted by hand. Corners are joined with wooden dowels, which provides structural stability and resistance to warping over years of use, including in rooms with elevated humidity.
Once assembled, the frame is painted in multiple coats with sanding between layers, then sealed with high-gloss polyurethane lacquer. Polyurethane builds a hard, moisture-resistant surface that keeps the finish even and reflective despite prolonged contact with steam and bathroom humidity. The face of the moulding, the visible sides and the inner rebate are all finished in the same shade, so the mirror reads as coherent from every angle. Traditional craft techniques give each piece lasting durability and an understated elegance.
The 52 mm-wide, 38 mm-thick profile draws a definite but composed line around the mirror glass. Softly rounded edges relieve the rectangle's geometry and bring the kind of calm associated with classic interior work. The high-gloss finish isn't a surface veneer — it comes from layered paintwork, inter-coat polishing, and a final lacquer that „seals" the colour.
How it differs from mass production
Standard high-street bathroom mirror frames are typically built from MDF profiles wrapped in PVC film imitating lacquered paint. That approach works only as long as the outer layer remains sealed — once chipped or delaminated in a humid zone it swells and loses its finish within a few seasons. A bathroom mirror frame built from solid wood and sealed in polyurethane behaves differently: the surface is homogeneous through the full depth of the coating, and the body of the frame is wood rather than particleboard. The result is not only more durable, but also repairable — a scratch or chip can be polished out.
Every mirror is made to individual order and to the client's measurements. The range includes wall-mounted mirrors and standing floor mirrors in the same moulding profile, making it possible to build a coherent scheme across a bathroom or dressing room.
Functionality
The mirror is prepared for both portrait and landscape mounting — sturdy wall brackets are fixed into the wood of the frame itself (not into the backing panel), which makes the hanging point reliable regardless of the mirror's weight. The HDF backing protects the silvering from mechanical damage. Polyurethane lacquer combined with solid wood construction allow the mirror to handle bathroom conditions: steam, temperature fluctuations and direct contact with moisture along the edges.
Option: bevelled mirror
A ground bevel up to 20 mm wide can be added to the mirror glass. Around 5 mm of that width is hidden under the frame's rebate, leaving roughly 15 mm visible. The bevel introduces a subtle optical effect — the edge of the pane refracts light and adds depth and definition. In a bathroom mirror, the effect reads particularly well under raking light from a window or from fixtures flanking the basin.
Additional option: anti-fog demister heating mat
On request, a heating mat (demister) can be fitted behind the mirror pane. The mat wires into the bathroom lighting circuit and keeps the glass slightly above ambient temperature — so the mirror doesn't fog after a shower or during a long bath. Note: fitting a demister requires confirming a few configuration details. Please get in touch directly before placing the order.
Personalisation and made-to-measure ordering
Each mirror is built to individual specification. You choose:
- dimensions (width × height, without grid restrictions)
- orientation — vertical, horizontal or as a standing floor mirror
- colour finish — beyond high-gloss white, a proprietary range of high-pigment craft paints in over 100 shades is available, in high gloss, satin or matt
- bevel option
- demister option
- bespoke details (matching existing furniture, tiling or bathroom fittings)
Lead time depends on size, the number of paint coats and additional options — usually a few weeks. For help choosing the right dimensions, colour or demister configuration, please get in touch directly.
