Burgundy and Gold Glamour Mirror - Made to Measure

This made-to-measure mirror is designed for interiors in which the frame should be an important part of the composition rather than a neutral border. A broad, profiled wooden moulding surrounds the glass with a deep burgundy surface and two distinct gilded accents. Genuine 23K gold leaf follows the outer contour of the frame and the shaped edge beside the mirror, bringing light and definition to the dark colour.

The 100 mm-wide moulding gives the mirror a strong architectural presence. Its burgundy centre is finished to a high gloss, while the gold highlights the outer line and the transition between the frame and the glass. This contrast makes the model suitable for interiors that need a pronounced decorative focal point.

The design belongs naturally among glamour mirrors, but its restrained geometry also allows it to work as one of the more distinctive decorative mirrors. It can be used in a living room, bedroom, hallway or dressing area, particularly where burgundy, dark timber, brass or gold details already appear in the interior.

Hand-finished frame with wooden splines in the corners

I assemble the wooden frame before applying the final decorative finish. Each mitred corner is reinforced with a wooden spline that passes across the joint and connects the two sections of the moulding. This construction is particularly important with a profile 100 mm wide, as it increases the stability of the frame and helps the corners retain their alignment.

After assembly, the corners are sanded and finished together with the remaining surface. The frame is therefore treated as one continuous form rather than as four separately decorated lengths joined only after finishing. The burgundy coating and the gilded sections continue across the corners without visible breaks in the overall composition.

Genuine 23K gold leaf

The gold sections are finished with genuine 23K gold leaf. The metal is used on the raised outer edge and on the shaped inner border around the mirror glass. Its warm reflection changes with the direction of light and gives depth to both the profile and the burgundy colour.

The high-gloss finish strengthens the contrast between the dark central surface and the gilded contours. This combination gives the mirror its glamour character without covering the entire frame in gold.

OptiWhite mirror glass

The frame is fitted with SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant mirror glass, 4 mm thick, produced on an OptiWhite base. The low-iron glass provides a clearer and more neutral reflection than standard green-tinted mirror glass, which is especially relevant when the mirror is surrounded by strong colours such as burgundy and gold.

A polished bevel with a standard width of 20 mm can be added at an extra cost. A different bevel width may also be prepared after individual agreement.

Made to measure for portrait or landscape mounting

The mirror is intended for wall mounting and can be prepared in portrait or landscape orientation. Two concealed hangers are fitted at the back in the selected position. The orientation should be chosen when placing the order so that the mounting system can be arranged correctly.

All dimensions entered or selected for this product refer to the complete mirror, including the frame. The moulding has a fixed width of 100 mm, so the visible mirror glass is smaller than the overall external dimensions.

International delivery depends on the mirror size

Smaller versions of this mirror can be shipped abroad. International transport is not available for every large format because the maximum dimensions depend on the destination, the carrier, the crate and the handling restrictions on a particular route.

The dimensions and orientation can be selected for the intended wall and interior. Changes to the burgundy shade, the type of metal or the degree of gloss should be discussed before ordering, as they create an individually quoted version rather than a standard configuration of this product.
