A black framed hallway mirror with a high-gloss finish. A wide solid wooden moulding painted with several coats of polyurethane lacquer from a curated, richly pigmented paint range. Made to measure in the size and colour matched to your interior.

A mirror in a black frame for the hallway is a decisive accent in the entryway — the deep black of the wide, high-gloss moulding anchors a minimalist or loft-style interior without the need for any additional ornament. The mirror glass reflects light with doubled intensity, because the lacquered surface of the frame itself acts as a second reflective plane, visibly opening up a narrow corridor. Against a white or grey wall, the black draws a sharp, confident outline that organises the whole composition around it. This is a made-to-measure decorative mirror for anyone looking for a modern wall mirror with a strong geometric form, stripped of decorative detail — in a clean, modernist idiom.

Where it fits

The wide black moulding with its mirror-like lacquer is a natural choice for a loft-style hallway — it works against a pale wall, raw concrete, exposed brick, or a dark graphite wallpaper. A large black framed hallway mirror becomes the single dominant piece of furniture in the entryway, setting the tone for the rest of the interior. In tighter layouts — corridors, walk-in wardrobes, the zone around an entry cabinet — the same frame takes on a dual role: it opens the space optically and becomes the strongest colour accent in the room. The model belongs firmly to the category of decorative hallway mirrors, but it is equally at home in a living room with an industrial detail, in a modern dining room, or in a study where dark surfaces read as calm and order.

How it is made

The frame is hand-made from solid wood. Corners are joined with wooden dowels while the frame is still raw, then sanded flat — so that, once painted, the join line disappears entirely and the moulding reads as a single continuous edge. The prepared frame is then coated in several layers of high-gloss polyurethane lacquer. Each layer is sanded between coats, which is what gives the surface its flat, mirror-like depth. The front panel and the sides of the moulding are painted in the same colour, so the frame remains visually coherent from every angle, including in profile. Traditional craft techniques ensure that each piece is built to last.

How it differs from mass production

Mass-produced frames are usually made from MDF wrapped in foil, or from a thin composite strip. Both constructions crack with changes in humidity, and the foil eventually peels at the corners. Here, wood is the structural core, and the polyurethane lacquer is a multi-layer finish laid by hand rather than by an industrial spray line. The result is a decorative mirror with the profile depth and durability that production-line manufacturing cannot match. Matching standing mirrors in the same profile are also available to order — same moulding, same finish — for rooms where a free-standing form is preferred.

Functionality

The mirror is hung on wall brackets fixed to an MDF backing. The construction holds the glass parallel to the wall, without tension that could distort the reflection. Inside the frame is a SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm sheet in OptiWhite grade — extra-clear glass, free of the greenish tint typical of standard mirrors, with an even, crisp reflection. Polyurethane lacquer forms a sealed surface that resists moisture and water vapour, so decorative mirrors from this series also suit the bathroom — as an alternative to the standard frameless bathroom mirror.

Option: bevelled glass

A ground bevel up to 20 mm wide can be added around the perimeter of the glass. The bevel introduces a soft, light-catching border that further separates the glass from the black frame and adds visible depth to the reflection.

Personalisation and made-to-measure orders

Every mirror is made to measure for a specific wall. Size variants are listed in the shop menu — if the size you need is missing, send a message and it will be added to the list, available to purchase directly through the site. Beyond high-gloss black, the frame is also made in white and in deep bottle green — the curated paint range covers more than a hundred shades, so any frame can be matched to a wall, a door, a floor, or a specific piece of interior furnishing. Modern hallway mirrors from this series are produced to order within a few weeks — the exact lead time is confirmed individually once size and colour are agreed.
