Solid-wood frame, hand-made and gilded with real 23-karat yellow gold leaf along the inner edge. Deep bottle-green finish hand-painted on the front and sides. SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm mirror glass on OptiWhite. Made to measure.
A deep, bottle-green frame paired with a gilded inner edge gives this mirror a presence that is strong but never loud. The green framed mirror is made from solid wood, hand-painted and sealed, with a 23-karat yellow gold leaf line laid along the inner moulding — a traditional detail that lifts the whole piece from within. Decorative wall mirrors in this style work in both classic and contemporary interiors, and because every piece is made to measure, the proportions can be adjusted to a specific wall, console, or alcove.
Where it fits
Bottle green is a confident colour that sits well with off-white, cream, sand beiges, warm timber, and marble. Above a console in the hallway it sets a tone for the whole entrance; over a sideboard or fireplace in the living room it anchors the composition without overwhelming it. In a bathroom, the mirror looks particularly strong above a white or marble vanity, and in a dressing room it works as a full-length piece made to your exact measurements. It suits classic, eclectic, glamour, and botanical interiors.

How it is made
Work on each frame begins with carefully selected solid wood of the right density and stability — the foundation that determines how the frame will behave over the years. The mouldings are routed to profile, sanded, and joined at the corners with wooden dowels, which keeps the structure stable and resistant to warping. Traditional craft techniques give each piece its durability and character.
The green is built up in hand-painted layers with careful sanding between coats; once the tone is right, the surface is sealed with lacquer that stabilises the colour and protects it from everyday wear. The panel and sides of the frame are painted in the same green — a small detail that matters when the mirror is seen from an angle.
The inner edge is gilded leaf by leaf with 23-karat yellow gold. Real gold leaf differs from imitation metal not only in depth of tone — its glow does not fade with the years, whereas substitutes can darken or dull. After laying, the surface is gently burnished with agate, which gives the gilding a warm, mirror-like sheen. The profile of the moulding has a clear groove separating the green front from the gilded line, so the gold reads as set into the frame rather than applied on top.
What sets this frame apart from mass production
Mass-market frames typically use MDF profiles wrapped in foil or machine-applied imitation gilding. In this piece, every step — timber selection, dowel joinery, hand-painting, real gold leaf — is done by hand. The result is frame with real depth of colour, natural grain beneath the finish, and gilding that holds its character under any light. The same method is used across the range, which includes both wall mirrors and full-length floor mirrors.
Function
The mirror is ready to hang vertically or horizontally — wall brackets are fitted in the workshop, and an HDF backing panel stabilises the structure and protects the back of the glass. The SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm pane on OptiWhite glass gives a neutral reflection without the green cast typical of standard mirrors, so interior colours read true and the room feels visually larger.
Option: ground bevel
On request, the glass can be finished with a ground bevel up to 20 mm. The bevel adds a subtle prismatic play along the edge and works particularly well with wider mouldings.
Add-on: anti-fog heating mat
For bathrooms, the mirror can be fitted with an anti-fog heating mat that prevents condensation after showering and keeps the surface clear in small, humid rooms.
Personalisation and made-to-measure order
Every mirror is made to measure. The green can be matched to a specific sample or fabric, and the finish chosen in semi-matte or high gloss. Instead of 23-karat gold, other tones are available: 22-karat moon gold (cooler, revealing a bronze-gold undertone when lightly distressed), 12-karat, 6-karat, and silver tones — 6-karat white gold leaf, 12-karat white gold leaf, palladium, and genuine silver leaf, always sealed with a protective lacquer. If you have a reference — an interior photo, a paint sample, a link — send it along with the opening or wall dimensions. I will prepare a quote and a finish proposal matched to your interior. A mirror of this kind becomes a lasting feature that gains character over the years.
