The hallway is the first interior anyone sees when entering a home — and usually the smallest. A well-chosen wall mirror can brighten the space, make it feel larger, and give it real character. In my workshop I make decorative mirrors to measure, set in frames that are either hand-painted or gilded with genuine gold leaf. Every piece is made from scratch — from cutting the moulding, through the finish, to final assembly — with a specific interior and its proportions in mind.

How to choose a mirror for your hallway
Three things matter most: the ceiling height, the width of the available wall, and how much daylight reaches the space. A few practical notes:
- Narrow hallways work best with tall, vertical mirrors — they draw the eye upward without taking width.
- Larger entrance halls can handle an oversized mirror as a focal point, especially paired with a console or a bench.
- Rectangular formats are timeless — they suit classic and modern interiors alike.
- Round and oval shapes soften the geometry of long corridors and sit beautifully above a console.
- A mirror opposite a window or a light source multiplies the brightness — the simplest way to make a small hallway feel larger.
Frame craftsmanship
Frames are built from high-quality wood, cut and profiled by hand. Corners are joined with wooden dowels — a traditional joinery method that gives the frame long-term stability. On gilded pieces, gold leaf is applied sheet by sheet using techniques and tools that have changed little in several hundred years. Painted frames are finished by hand on both the front and the sides of the moulding, using a high-pigment range of artisan paints. A well-made frame gilded with real gold leaf can last for generations — it's decoration, but also an investment.
Mirror glass, bevel and mounting
All mirrors use SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm, OptiWhite glass — exceptionally clear and neutral in tone, without the greenish cast of standard mirror glass. A ground bevel (up to 20 mm wide) is available as an option — an elegant detail that suits classic and glamour interiors especially well. The backing is HDF, and each mirror ships with wall brackets ready for hanging.
Made to measure and personalization
Every mirror is produced to order. Personalization covers:
- exact dimensions and proportions,
- vertical or horizontal orientation,
- moulding profile — on some models the shape can be modified before finishing (segment changes, widening of flat sections),
- gold tone: 6-karat (cool, near-silver), 12-karat, 22-karat moon gold (muted, matte, with a slightly cooler cast), 23-karat yellow (warm, intense shine),
- for painted frames — over 100 colour options,
- ground bevel on the mirror edge.
Standard lead time is 15–30 working days. Finish samples can be sent on request, so you can match the tone to the actual light in your home.

What kind of mirror works best in a small hallway?
