Framed bathroom mirrors are a functional piece of bathroom equipment and a decorative element that gives the interior its character. In my workshop I make wall mirrors and standing mirrors from solid wood, built to each client's dimensions. The frames for bathroom mirrors are produced from scratch — from cutting the moulding to applying the final finish — so every bathroom mirror can be ordered in chosen proportions, in vertical or horizontal orientation, with a selected frame style and colour.

Which bathroom styles the mirrors suit
Each bathroom mirror is matched to the interior. In modern bathrooms, narrow profiled mouldings in black, graphite or silver tones sit well with large-format tiles and matte-finish fittings. Glamour bathrooms work with wider mouldings and a pronounced profile, with gilding or in cool silver tones — they create a clear counterpoint to smooth marble surfaces.
Retro bathroom mirrors fit naturally in interiors with patinated details, metro tiles, forged handles and wooden countertops. For classic bathrooms with light walls, restrained tones — cream, grey, graphite — with a delicate profile work well. Small bathrooms benefit from a mirror in a narrow frame that visually enlarges the space; in larger bathrooms, decorative mirrors in bigger formats become a central element of the interior.
Frame styles available in this category
Every frame is made from high-quality solid wood. The corners are joined with wooden dowels — this ensures structural stability and resistance to deformation over years of use. The offer includes hand-painted frames in over one hundred colours, and frames gilded with genuine gold leaf — 22 karat, 23 karat, as well as cool tones: 6 karat, 12 karat, silver leaf and palladium.

The back panel and sides of the frame are always painted in the same colour as the front — including where the frame meets the wall. Traditional craft techniques ensure the durability and finish of each piece.
Glass and resistance to bathroom conditions
For bathroom mirrors I use SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm, OptiWhite glass. This is a low-iron mirror with enhanced clarity, without the greenish cast typical of standard mirrors — the reflection is colour-neutral, which matters during make-up and grooming. The glass has a dark reverse coating that protects the silver layer against moisture.
Frames intended for bathrooms are protected with polyurethane lacquer — hard, resistant to water vapour and humidity changes. The backing is made from HDF, which performs better in high-humidity rooms than standard wood-based boards. MDF is used on request where a thicker panel is needed. Wall brackets for hanging the mirror are included.
Option: mirror with bevel
A ground bevel up to 20 mm wide can be ordered for any mirror in this category. The bevel creates a subtle prism along the edge of the glass and softens the transition between the mirror and the frame. On narrow mouldings it becomes especially visible, refracting light in different directions.
Option: anti-fog mirror with heating mat
For bathrooms where the mirror regularly fogs after bathing, a heating mat can be fitted to the back of the glass. The mat keeps the surface of the mirror just above the dew point, so the glass does not mist. The installation is done at the factory stage, before the mirror is assembled into the frame.
Craft and construction
Each mirror goes through all stages in a single workshop: cutting the moulding, joining corners with wooden dowels, sanding, painting or gilding leaf by leaf, fitting the glass, setting the backing, attaching the wall brackets. Gilded frames are finished using traditional methods — without gold-effect foil or industrial metal imitations.
The decorative mirrors offered here differ from mass production in the strength of their joints, the weight of the frame and the way the sides are finished. In mass-produced items, frames are often made from foam-formed profiles or wood-substitute materials; here the base is wood, and the joints are mechanical rather than glued edge to edge.
Customisation and made-to-measure orders
All mirrors in this category are made to measure. The client provides the two outer dimensions (including the frame), chooses orientation — vertical or horizontal — and the finish colour. Over one hundred shades are available from a high-pigment paint range; for gilded frames, there is a choice between warm tones (22 karat, 23 karat) and cool tones (6 karat, 12 karat, silver leaf, palladium). A colour sample can be prepared on request before production begins.
The given dimensions refer to the full mirror including the frame. Moulding width varies between models — you will find it in the specification of each product.
Production typically takes four to six weeks, depending on the complexity of the finish. For unusual orders — very large formats, joined panels, special shapes — a custom schedule is agreed.
