Craftsmanship

Every piece is made in my workshop from the first cut of timber to the final coat of lacquer. Solid wood mouldings are profiled and the corners of the frame are joined with wooden dowels. This ensures structural stability and resistance to deformation over years of use. Once assembled, the frame is painted in champagne white with a matt finish — the front, the sides and the inner panel are all covered in exactly the same colour, so the profile reads as one continuous form regardless of angle or light.

The narrow inner edge along the glass is the artisan accent. The frame is hand-made and gilded with genuine 22 karat moon gold leaf — leaves are laid one next to another along the entire perimeter. Moon gold has a cooler, slightly silvery tone and gives a restrained, satin-like reflection. Traditional craft techniques ensure the durability and elegance of every piece. The result is a quiet contrast of light: the wide white band absorbs it softly, while the narrow gold edge picks it up in a fine line along the glass.

How this frame differs from mass production

In serial production, a moulding of this width would be formed from soft profiles, sprayed in a single operation, with a "gold" edge imitated by foil or metallic paint. Here the moulding is made of high quality wood, the corners are joined with wooden dowels, and the gilding is real 22 karat leaf laid by hand. The difference is visible up close — the gilded edge has a living texture, slightly darker in some places and brighter in others, something no industrial process can replicate. The collection includes other decorative mirrors in the same line — both wall mirrors and floor-standing mirrors — in different proportions and finishes.

Functionality

Wall brackets are fitted on the back of the frame, allowing the mirror to be hung either vertically or horizontally — please indicate your preferred orientation when ordering. The backing is made of MDF, which stiffens the construction and protects the rear of the glass. The glass itself is SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm — OptiWhite glass with low iron oxide content, giving a neutral, true-to-colour reflection without the greenish cast typical of standard mirrors. The frame finish is moisture-resistant, so the mirror can also be used in a bathroom, provided the room is properly ventilated.

Personalisation and made-to-measure orders

The mirror is made to measure — height, width and proportion are tailored to the exact place it is meant for. The frame colour can be changed to any shade from a highly pigmented, artisan paint range: warm or cool whites, ecru, light beige, pearl grey, powder pink, or deeper tones such as graphite, bottle green or navy. The gilded edge can be executed in 22 karat moon gold (as shown), in warmer 23 karat gold with a more intense glow that does not fade over the years, or in silver leaf for a cooler palette.
