Hand-made frame, partially gilded with genuine gold leaf — white gold 6 karat or yellow gold 23 karat. Panel and sides painted by hand in cream or white. Mirror made to measure.
This decorative mirror in a classic frame combines everyday practicality with hand-crafted detailing. The frame, partially gilded with genuine gold leaf, gives the mirror a distinctive character and turns it into a statement piece rather than a simple reflective surface. Gold leaf accents against a cream or white background create a clear contrast that draws the eye and anchors the room's décor. Every mirror is made to measure — each piece is built from scratch in a single workshop, to order.
Rooms and interiors
A cream or white frame with gold leaf gilding suits classic, Provençal and transitional interiors, but works equally well in modern spaces where it serves as a decorative focal point. The cream version pairs naturally with warm wall tones — beige, sand, broken white, natural plaster finishes. The white version looks its best against cooler tones of grey, blue-grey or pure white.
In a hallway, a made-to-measure mirror visually opens the space and adds light. In a living room, hung above a console or sideboard, it becomes the centrepiece of the arrangement. In a bathroom, it is both functional and decorative — the frame is sealed with a moisture-resistant lacquer for reliable use in humid conditions.

Craftsmanship
The frame is made from solid wood. Corner joints use wooden dowels, which ensure structural stability and prevent warping over years of use. After sanding, the wood is coated with multiple layers of high-pigment paint, sanded again by hand and prepared for gilding.
Gilding is carried out entirely by hand — gold leaf is applied sheet by sheet to the prepared surface of the moulding. Two types of gold leaf are available. White gold leaf at 6 karat produces a cool, silvery tone with a subtle warm undertone — a refined choice for interiors dominated by light, muted colours. Yellow gold leaf at 23 karat has a deep, intense lustre that does not fade with time and develops a distinguished patina as it ages. After gilding, the frame is polished and sealed with lacquer.
The frame panel and its sides are painted by hand in the same colour — cream or white, depending on the chosen version. Consistent finishing across all visible surfaces, including the sides, ensures the mirror looks meticulous from every angle. The moulding profile, 80 mm wide and 42 mm deep, gives the frame a pronounced, sculptural presence.
What sets this frame apart from mass production
The frame is made entirely by hand — from wood preparation, through multi-layer painting, to gilding with genuine gold leaf. No prefabricated components or ready-made moulding strips are used at any stage. As a result, the mirror has no visible joins at the corners — unlike frames cut from stock profiles and pressed together. Traditional craft techniques ensure the durability and refinement of every piece.
The range includes both wall mirrors and standing mirrors, each made to measure with individually selected finish and colour.
Practical features
The mirror is fitted with wall brackets for hanging. When ordering, please indicate whether the mirror will hang in portrait or landscape orientation — the bracket is factory-fitted in the correct position. The back of the mirror is covered with MDF board, which stabilises the structure and protects the glass from behind.
The mirror glass is ClearVision, 4 mm thick, providing a clear, distortion-free reflection with natural colour rendering. The frame is finished with a moisture-resistant lacquer, making it suitable for bathroom installation.
Option: bevelled mirror
The mirror can be made with bevelled edges. A bevel is a decorative angled cut along the edge of the glass that creates a subtle light effect around the perimeter and adds an extra layer of detail. Available on request — please select this option when placing your order.
Option: 5 mm OptiWhite glass with bevel
As an alternative to the standard 4 mm glass, a 5 mm OptiWhite panel with bevel is available. The thicker glass produces a more pronounced, decorative bevel at the edges, and the low-iron composition of OptiWhite eliminates the greenish tint found in standard glass. Available on request — please get in touch.
Additional option: anti-fog mirror with heating mat
For mirrors intended for bathroom use, a heating mat can be installed behind the glass. The mat prevents steam condensation on the mirror surface. Available on request — please contact us with your chosen mirror size and the option will be added to the size list.
Personalisation and ordering
The mirror is available in two gilding options: white gold leaf at 6 karat with a cool, silvery character, or yellow gold leaf at 23 karat with a warm, intense lustre. Frame panel and side colour is your choice: cream or white. Dimensions are set individually — if the size you need is not on the list, please send a message.
Every mirror is made to order. Lead time depends on the current production queue — please get in touch to confirm the timeframe. A hand-crafted mirror in a classic frame is a lasting choice for anyone looking for quality materials, genuine gold leaf and a piece tailored to their space.
