Handmade cream and gold wall mirror in a 70 × 40 mm wooden frame, finished in high gloss and gilded by hand with genuine 23K gold leaf. The 4 mm low-iron OptiWhite-based glass can be ordered with a bevel up to 20 mm or an anti-fog mat. Custom dimensions are available, while international delivery of larger sizes is confirmed individually.
Cream and gold mirror with genuine 23K gold leaf
This cream and gold mirror is made to order in a wooden frame with a fixed profile measuring 70 mm wide and 40 mm deep. The broad cream-coloured panel is finished in high gloss, while the profiled edges are gilded by hand with genuine 23K gold leaf. The contrast between the light surface and the warm yellow gold gives the mirror a clear decorative presence without the need for carved ornament.
The rectangular form works in both classic and contemporary interiors. The cream finish sits naturally beside warm whites, beige, stone, pale timber and muted wall colours. On a darker wall, the light panel and gilded edges create a stronger contrast and allow the mirror to become one of the main decorative elements in the room.
Wooden frame reinforced with splined corners
I make the frame in my workshop and strengthen each mitred corner with wooden splines before applying the decorative finish. A spline passes across the joint between two sections of moulding, connecting them mechanically and limiting movement between the adjoining parts.
This construction is particularly important in a mirror frame because the corners must support the weight of the glass during handling, transport, installation and everyday use. The splines are not decorative details added after the frame has been completed. They form part of its internal construction and are fitted before the surface is prepared, painted and gilded.
Only after the corners have been joined and reinforced do I begin building the final surface. This sequence allows the structural work to remain hidden beneath the finish while helping the corners retain their alignment over time.
High-gloss cream finish and hand-applied 23K gold leaf
The centre of the profile is finished in cream with a reflective, high-gloss surface. The shaped edges are covered with genuine 23K gold leaf applied by hand. Each piece of leaf is placed separately and adapted to the curves and transitions of the moulding.
This is real gold leaf rather than metallic paint or Dutch metal. Genuine 23K gold retains its characteristic colour, and its brilliance does not fade with the passing years. The gilded sections respond differently to daylight, artificial light and the viewing angle, creating changing reflections around the mirror glass.
Subtle variations in the surface and the course of the leaf are natural results of individual handwork. They distinguish the finished frame from factory-made mouldings covered with a uniform sprayed or printed coating.
Low-iron OptiWhite-based mirror glass
The frame contains 4 mm mirror glass made on a low-iron OptiWhite base. The reduced green cast gives the edges a cleaner appearance and produces a more neutral reflection than standard mirror glass. This is particularly noticeable beside a pale cream frame and in well-lit rooms, where the colour of conventional glass can be more visible.
The reverse of the mirror is protected with an HDF backing board. It shields the back of the glass and provides a clean, stable finish on the wall-facing side of the frame.
Optional bevel up to 20 mm
The mirror glass can be ordered with a bevel up to 20 mm wide. With the maximum 20 mm bevel, approximately 16 mm remains visible from the front because the remaining section is concealed inside the frame rebate.
The bevel creates an additional reflective line around the perimeter of the glass. It catches light close to the gilded inner edge and produces a more decorative transition between the mirror surface and the frame. The bevel must be specified when ordering because it affects the preparation and dimensions of the glass.
Optional anti-fog heating mat
An anti-fog heating mat can be installed behind the mirror glass. Once connected to the electrical supply, it warms a selected area of the glass and reduces condensation after a bath or shower.
The heating mat does not have to cover the entire mirror surface. Its size and position are selected according to the dimensions of the glass and the area that should remain clear. Electrical power must be prepared at the installation point before the mirror is fitted.
Rigid keyhole plates for wall mounting
The mirror is fitted with rigid metal keyhole plates screwed directly to the wooden frame. Each plate has an inverted keyhole-shaped opening designed to fit over the heads of standard wall-mounting screws.
During installation, the screw heads enter the wider lower sections of the openings. When the mirror is lowered, the screws move into the narrower parts of the metal plates and hold the frame in position. To remove the mirror, it must first be lifted and then pulled away from the wall.
The screws and wall plugs should be selected according to the construction of the wall and the complete weight of the mirror. The fixing points must be measured and levelled accurately before installation.
Portrait or landscape orientation
The mirror can be prepared for either portrait or landscape hanging. The selected orientation determines the position of the metal keyhole plates on the back of the frame, so it should be specified when placing the order.
A portrait layout works well on a narrow wall, in a hallway, dressing room or bedroom. A landscape orientation is suitable above a console, chest of drawers, wide basin or other piece of furniture where the mirror should follow a horizontal line.
This model is designed as a wall mirror. Using it as a freestanding floor mirror would require an additional supporting construction and is not a standard option for this product.
A decorative mirror for the living room, hallway or bathroom
The 70 mm frame gives the mirror enough visual weight to form part of the room's furnishing rather than functioning only as a reflective surface. In a living room, it can reflect daylight and strengthen the composition above a console or sideboard. In a hallway, the cream and gold frame introduces a brighter decorative element while providing a practical full or partial reflection.
In a bedroom or dressing room, the pale finish works well with fabrics, warm whites and natural timber. With the optional anti-fog mat and correctly prepared electrical connection, the model can also be specified for use above a bathroom basin.
The simple rectangular shape prevents the finish from becoming excessively ornamental. This allows the mirror to work in modern interiors as well as in more classical, glamour or transitional settings.

Made to measure in standard and custom dimensions
The product can be ordered in one of the standard dimensions shown on the page, but it can also be made in dimensions that are not listed among the available variants. For a non-standard size, send the required outer width and height through the contact page. I will confirm the construction, price and delivery options before the order is placed.
When measuring the wall, allow for the complete outer size of the frame rather than only the reflective area. Check the distance from doors, ceilings, wall lights, sockets, furniture, worktops and bathroom fittings. The frame is 70 mm wide, so it must be included when planning the proportions of the finished installation.
Other finishes and profiles can be compared in the collection of framed mirrors made to measure. More strongly reflective and decorative models are available among the glamour mirrors, while the wider decorative mirror collection includes a broader range of hand-finished designs.
Production time and international delivery
The standard production time is 20 to 30 working days. This includes preparing and joining the wooden frame, reinforcing the corners with wooden splines, building the decorative surface, applying the cream finish and 23K gold leaf, preparing the mirror glass and completing the final assembly.
Smaller sizes are available for international delivery. Not every large mirror can be shipped abroad because carrier acceptance depends on the complete packed dimensions, volumetric weight, frame width, destination and the limits of the available transport service.
There is no single maximum dimension that applies to every frame and every country. Please contact me before purchasing a large mirror for delivery outside Poland. I will verify the selected dimensions and confirm whether the finished mirror can be packed and transported safely. A size that exceeds the applicable transport limits cannot be dispatched to the selected destination.
