How it is made

The frame is cut, joined and finished by hand in the workshop. The corners are joined with wooden dowels, which keeps the structure stable and resistant to warping over years of use. The black finish is built up in layers and smoothed between coats, so the surface comes out even, with no streaks or visible brushwork.

The semi-matte finish gives the frame a subtle satin texture — light slides across it instead of bouncing back, which brings out the geometry of the moulding profile. The face and the sides of the frame are painted in the same black, so the frame reads as one piece even when seen from an angle. The surface is moisture- and abrasion-resistant, which means the mirror handles hallway and bathroom conditions without trouble. Traditional craft techniques ensure the durability and elegance of every piece.

What sets this frame apart from mass production

Every frame is made for a specific order, to dimensions agreed with the client. There are no joins where there shouldn't be any, and the moulding profile runs cleanly along the full length. The wood is seasoned, the corners are dowel-jointed and the finish is applied by hand — details you only notice up close, but which decide how a frame ages over the years. The collection includes both wall mirrors and floor-standing mirrors in the same black finish, both available as decorative made-to-measure pieces.

Functionality

The mirror arrives ready to hang — wall brackets are fitted to the back of the frame and matched to the weight of the individual piece. The MDF backing protects the glass and stiffens the structure. The SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm or ClearVision 4 mm glass is a high-clarity mirror that renders colours more faithfully than a standard one — the reflection is neutral, without the greenish cast typical of cheaper glass. The frame finish is moisture-resistant, so the mirror can also be hung in rooms with higher humidity.

Option: Bevelled mirror glass

On request, the edge of the glass can be bevelled — up to a 25 mm bevel width. The bevel adds a fine graphic line at the edge of the glass and gives the reflection a subtle inner border of light inside the frame.

Additional option: Anti-fog mirror with heating mat

A heating mat can be added to the back of the glass. It gently warms the surface and prevents condensation — a practical solution for bathrooms, where the mirror should stay clear even after a shower. Personalisation and made-to-measure orders

The mirror can be ordered in any size from the list or in a fully custom size — tailored to a specific wall, alcove or piece of furniture.
