Craftsmanship

Each frame is built from solid wood with corners joined by wooden dowels — a method that keeps the structure stable and resistant to warping over years of use. Once assembled, the frame is sanded, sealed and then gilded by hand with real gold leaf, applied leaf by leaf. Every piece is finished in the workshop; no two are identical.

6-karat white gold has a cool, highly reflective surface — closer to chrome than to conventional gold. It is a noble metal: it does not tarnish, does not discolour and requires no special care. The front face is gilded; the sides are painted in black lacquer, which sharpens the profile and adds visual depth.

How this frame differs from mass-produced alternatives

Most silver-coloured frames on the market are finished with silver paint or base-metal coatings that oxidise and dull over time. This frame uses real 6-karat gold leaf — a corrosion-resistant metal with a lasting, stable finish. Dowel joints instead of adhesive alone, solid wood instead of pressed board, hand-applied gilding instead of sprayed lacquer.

The workshop also offers mirrors in other gold leaf finishes — from the cool, chrome-like tone of 6-karat white gold to the warmer shades of 22-karat moon gold. Available as wall mirrors and leaner mirrors.

Practical details

The frame is sealed with a moisture-resistant lacquer and can be used in a bathroom without concern. Wall brackets are fitted as standard — the mirror can be hung portrait or landscape. The SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm OptiWhite glass delivers a clear, colour-neutral reflection with no green cast — important in rooms with bright, white lighting.

Option: mirror with bevel

A ground bevel of up to 15 mm is available for this model. The angled edge catches light differently from the flat mirror surface — a subtle effect that becomes more pronounced with directional or side lighting. The bevel must be ordered with the mirror and cannot be added later.

Additional option: anti-fog mirror with heating mat
