Wall mirror in a solid wood white frame, available in satin or high-gloss finish. Polyurethane lacquer is moisture resistant and suitable for bathrooms. Mirror made to measure.

A white framed mirror made to measure is a timeless choice for the bathroom, bedroom and hallway. The white moulding brings freshness and lightness into the room, visually enlarges the space and reflects natural light, brightening even the smallest interiors. This is a decorative wall mirror with real character — a piece that combines everyday function with quiet elegance and works equally well in modern interiors and in classic settings. The frame is offered in two finishes: a soft satin and a high-gloss lacquer.

Where it fits

A white frame works with almost any interior style. In the bathroom it sits comfortably alongside white sanitaryware, light tiles and wooden vanity tops. In the bedroom it becomes a calm backdrop for textiles in muted tones — greys, beiges, dusty pinks or sage greens. In the hallway it brightens a tight space and gives you a quick check before stepping out. It belongs in Scandinavian, Provençal, classic and minimalist interiors. The satin version brings a soft, low-sheen reflection and quiet elegance, while the high-gloss version adds light reflections and a more contemporary feel. White framed wall mirrors look great against walls in white, warm greys, dusty pastels and also against deep, contrasting colours such as navy, bottle green or charcoal.

Craftsmanship

The frame is made from high-quality solid wood. The corners are joined with wooden dowels, which keeps the frame stable and resistant to warping for years of use. After assembly the frame is carefully sanded and then hand-painted, layer by layer — each coat is gently smoothed before the next is applied, until the surface develops a uniform depth of colour. The final stage is a polyurethane lacquer: hard, moisture resistant and abrasion resistant, the same finish used on premium kitchen cabinetry. Traditional craft techniques give every piece its durability and quiet elegance. The moulding has a stepped profile — the outer face descends towards the rebate in a soft curve, creating a play of light across the surface of the frame. The sides and the inner panel of the frame are painted in the same colour as the front, so the mirror looks coherent even when viewed from an angle.

How this frame differs from mass production

Mass-produced mirror frames are usually made from veneer or layered wood-based materials and finished with a single coat of factory spray. After a few months in a bathroom the surface starts to yellow, the lacquer cracks at the corners and the colour loses its depth. This frame is built from high-quality solid wood, joined with wooden dowels and finished by hand with multiple coats of paint and polyurethane lacquer. Every piece passes through my hands at every stage — from cutting the moulding to the final polish. It is a difference you do not see in a product photograph, but one that becomes obvious after years of daily use. Wall mirrors and freestanding floor mirrors are available in my offer in a range of sizes and finishes.

Function

The mirror comes with two concealed wall brackets that allow it to be hung in either portrait or landscape orientation. The back is sealed with an MDF board, which protects the mirror glass from mechanical damage and from moisture coming through the wall. The standard SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm OptiWhite glass has a low iron oxide content, so the reflection is natural and free of the greenish cast typical of ordinary mirror glass. The polyurethane lacquer on the frame means the mirror can be installed in a bathroom without concern — it handles changes in humidity and temperature, will not yellow and will not chip at the edges.

Option: bevelled mirror

On request, the mirror glass can be finished with a ground bevel up to 20 mm wide. The bevel adds a decorative detail around the perimeter of the glass, refracts light gently along the edges and gives the mirror a more classic, refined character. It works particularly well in interiors where the mirror plays a clearly decorative role.

Optional extra: anti-fog heating mat

For bathroom mirrors, an anti-fog heating mat is available. It prevents water vapour from settling on the mirror surface after a bath or shower. The mat is fitted discreetly to the back of the mirror and connected to the mains — usually to the same circuit as the bathroom lighting.

Personalisation and custom orders

The mirror is made to measure — simply provide the width and height and the frame will be built to those dimensions. The white frame is available in two finishes: satin or high gloss. On request the frame can also be painted in another colour — I work with a curated range of high-pigment paints typical of artisan workshops. If you have your own inspiration, you are welcome to send a photo of the interior or a colour sample, and I will prepare a proposal tailored to your needs. Lead time is approximately 4 weeks from order confirmation. Before starting work I send a summary of the dimensions and finish for your approval, to make sure everything matches your expectations. Please get in touch if you have any questions — I am happy to advise on size and finish.
