Solid wood frame joined with wooden dowels, multi-layer painted in deep black and finished with a semi-matte lacquer. Multi-step profiled moulding, 52 mm wide. Mirror made to measure.
A black, multi-step profiled frame gives this mirror a distinctive character and turns it into an interior element that defines the space without overpowering the rest of the arrangement. The deep, semi-matte black finish reflects light discreetly, while the moulding profile creates a play of shadow and a clearly drawn outline around the glass. Decorative mirrors in this kind of setting work equally well in modern interiors held in a restrained palette and in more classical arrangements where black acts as an organising accent. Each mirror is made to measure, to dimensions provided by the customer.
Where it fits
Black decorative mirrors look their best against walls in shades of white, light grey, beige and natural linen — the contrasting frame becomes a clear focal point of the composition. They also work well on walls painted in deeper colours — graphite, bottle green or navy blue — where the frame blends into the background and the profiled moulding draws a delicate line of light. It is a sound choice for a hallway, where it visually expands the space; for a living room, as a decorative accent above a console table or fireplace; for a bedroom above a chest of drawers; and for a bathroom, thanks to the moisture-resistant finish. Both wall mirrors and floor-standing mirrors in matching frames are available in the collection.

Craftsmanship
The frame is made from solid wood, with corners joined using wooden dowels while still in the raw state, before any surface finishing. This ensures structural stability and resistance to warping over years of use. Once assembled, the frame is carefully sanded, then covered with successive coats of paint in a deep black — applied to both the front of the moulding and the sides of the frame, so the mirror looks consistent from every angle. A layer of lacquer protects the whole, fixing the colour, increasing resistance to mechanical damage and giving the surface its silky, semi-matte sheen. The multi-step moulding profile — with clearly marked transitions between the planes — is a detail best seen in raking light. Traditional craftsmanship techniques ensure the durability and elegance of every piece.
How this frame differs from mass production
In mass production, frames are most often built from thin strips of glued veneer or from profiles wrapped in wood-imitation foil. Here the moulding is made from solid wood with a substantial cross-section, joined with traditional wooden dowels, and the successive layers of paint and lacquer are applied by hand rather than by industrial spray line. The result is a surface with even depth and a soft sheen that cannot be achieved in serial production. Each piece is made for a specific order and a specific size — this is not a finished product taken off the shelf, but a mirror prepared for a particular interior.
Functionality
Wall brackets fitted to the back of the frame allow the mirror to be hung in either vertical or horizontal orientation, with no need to change the construction. The backing is an MDF panel that protects the rear of the mirror glass from dust and damage. The SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm glass is made on an OptiWhite base with a reduced iron oxide content — the reflection stays neutral, without the greenish tint typical of ordinary soda-lime glass. The multi-layer paint and lacquer finish makes the frame moisture-resistant, so the mirror can also be used in a bathroom.
Optional: anti-fog mirror with heating mat
On request, the mirror glass can be fitted with a heating mat that eliminates fogging in the bathroom after a hot shower. The mat works silently, is invisible from the user's side, and can be wired into the bathroom lighting circuit or to a separate switch. The option only needs to be marked when placing the order.
Personalisation and made-to-measure orders
I make each mirror to measure, to dimensions provided by you. Beyond the standard semi-matte finish, matte and high-gloss versions are also available — the latter works particularly well in glamour-style arrangements. The frame colour can be matched to the interior project; I welcome inspirations in the form of photographs, links or paint samples. Lead time is agreed individually, once dimensions and chosen options are confirmed. Please get in touch to discuss the details of your order.

In addition we can add glass with 25 mm or custom width bevel.
