Craftsmanship

The frame is built from solid wood selected for stability and even grain. The corners are joined with wooden dowels, which gives the construction long-term resistance to warping. Traditional techniques ensure the durability and elegance of every piece.

After preparation and smoothing, the front and sides of the frame are finished in deep high-gloss black. The inner profile — running along the mirror glass — is hand-made and gilded with genuine 23 karat gold leaf, applied leaf by leaf. This produces a finish no factory metallised spray can match. The brilliance of 23 karat gold does not fade with the years.

A protective lacquer guards the surface against moisture and minor damage. The 75 mm wide, 40 mm deep moulding gives the frame real presence without overwhelming the glass — the proportions keep the mirror functional, not purely sculptural.

How this frame differs from mass production

Most glamour mirrors on the mass market are built on MDF or laminated profiles and coated with schlagmetal — an imitation gold that yellows and dulls over time. Nero Glam 23K is a different category: solid wood, hand gilding with real gold leaf, dowel-jointed corners, protective lacquer. Each piece is made one at a time, to a specific order and a specific size. The same finish is available for both wall mirrors and standing floor mirrors — you can match the model to the role it plays in the room.

Function

The mirror hangs on hidden brackets and can be mounted vertically or horizontally. The MDF backing reinforces the construction and protects the reverse of the glass. SGG Miralite® Pure Diamant 4 mm OptiWhite has a reduced iron oxide content, which gives a clean, neutral reflection without the green cast typical of standard mirrors. The lacquered frame finish makes Nero Glam 23K suitable for bathroom use.

Optional bevelled glass

On request, the mirror can be made with 5 mm OptiWhite glass with a bevelled edge. The bevel forms a delicate decorative outline around the glass and adds to the sense of depth.

Personalisation and made-to-measure orders

Every Nero Glam 23K is built to order. The size is matched to a specific spot — above a console, fireplace, chest of drawers or basin. The frame can also be made in other gilding variants (22 karat, 12 karat, 6 karat) or silver, and in any colour for the front and sides: black, white, cream, navy, bottle green and other shades from a high-pigment artisan paint range. Available finishes: gloss, semi-matt, matt.
