The Vespera frame is a unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and artistic precision. Each piece is handcrafted from wood, then hand-painted and finished with multiple layers of coatings that add depth and character, inspired by the master techniques of historical gilders.

This frame is joined using traditional wooden splines, ensuring exceptional durability and structural stability. This classic method of assembly not only highlights the craftsmanship but also guarantees the longevity of the frame.

Refined Finish – Gold and Sfumato

The inner edge of the frame is meticulously gilded with 23.5-, 22-, or 12-carat gold leaf, applied over a red bolus clay base. The gold finish can be selected from the menu.
Thanks to the sfumato technique, light subtly permeates the gilded surface, creating soft tonal transitions and velvety reflections. This effect makes the gold not only shine but also radiate warmth, shifting its appearance depending on the angle of light.

Upon request, the frame can also be finished with moon gold (22-carat), giving it a subtle, slightly silvery hue, or white gold, which offers a cool, elegant glow.

The entire frame is hand-painted, giving it a unique character and highlighting the precision of artisanal craftsmanship. The sides are coated in deep black with a subtle brush texture, creating a harmonious contrast with the illuminated front. The frame is protected with a blend of high-quality resins, waxes, and pigments, safeguarding the surface from moisture and damage while maintaining its delicate luminosity.

The standard rebate depth is 20 mm, but it can be adjusted to accommodate the thickness of your painting upon request. With spring clips for secure mounting, installation is quick and safe, ensuring stability and a refined presentation of your artwork.

The frame is equipped with a hanging wire, offering flexibility in how it is displayed. You can choose the orientation – portrait or landscape – to best suit your arrangement.
